New Year Resolutions are a joke.

Every year, like clock work. People start planning a new life in December. With the thought, that a new year is a new beginning. New Year, new me bullshit. As if a day on the calendar is some magical reset button. We hear it all the time, next year, before my birthday, or I’ll start Monday. Why are we so consumed by the future, that we can’t live in the now? Putting your goals off until next month/tomorrow is hurting your growth.

What most people don’t realize, right now, is a good time to change. I don’t care if you ate the whole damn cake, and then decide you want to start eating better. You don’t have to wait for tomorrow, or next year. Stop making excuses to why your not going after the life you want. Do you want to look back and think ” I wish I started sooner ” ?

I wasted a lot of time over the years, thinking I needed to wait for the right time to do something. Even feeling like I haven’t done enough, since my time line didn’t match others. I’m telling you, time is bullshit. Your destiny, journey, fate, or whatever you believe, isn’t waiting til Monday.

You will never be prepared for what life brings you. You will never be able to control what happens, putting it off wont change that. Don’t buy into the ideal that time rules all. You don’t need to have it figured out by a certain age, or year. You just have to get started.

Welcome, my name is Ashley. I hope to use humor, and lessons I learned to help others live a happier life too. This isn't some scam or quick fix. It's just me, a 30 something year old who been through some shit, and learned the hard way. It took a lot of years for me to be in a place, where people actually wanted advice from me. I'm not saying its the best, but some think I'd make a good therapist. I'm probably more like a cool aunt, though. The kind that says fuck a lot, but has your best interested in mind. All jokes aside, I do tend to have a more positive outlook. I believe we all have the power to change our own lives for the better. It's a matter of changing your prospective.
